This class will introduce students to iRest® Yoga Nidra, a simple and elegant guided relaxation process and research-based transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry. iRest releases negative emotions and thought patterns, calms the nervous system, and develops a deep capacity to meet any and all circumstances one may encounter in life. Engaging in meditative inquiry while in a deep state of rest, the iRest research shows that iRest Yoga Nidra effectively reduces Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, anxiety, insomnia, Attention Deficit Disorder & Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, chronic pain, chemical dependency, and daily stress levels. It is also helpful with increasing energy levels, focus and attention span, confidence, clarity, and an overall sense of calm and peace. Students should come to this class with comfortable clothes that will keep them warm, as the physical practice itself spans 30-35 minutes.
